BIOGRAPHY

Mithea D. is a transdisciplinary artist of Arab-Hispanic origin, born in the city of Fez, the spiritual, scientific, and cultural capital of Morocco. She grew up in a family of artists, poets, and writers, which led her to feel drawn to and involved in art from a very early age. This early connection allowed her to develop an intuitive and sensitive instinct for visual analysis in relation to the self and its environment, as well as a poetic and harmonious vision of nature and a deep observation of her own inner experience of existing within existence.

From a very young age, MID began creating her first works of painting in various techniques and her first engravings, gathering a series of graphic works by the age of seven. Her creative pursuit has been infused with a deep sensitivity toward mysticism and the beauty of the everyday.

Her work is expressed through various forms such as visual poetry, sound poetry, and poetry of action, using art as a medium for philosophical and emotional exploration. She is inspired by the Sufi tradition and the concept of life as a journey of self-knowledge, where each experience and transformation becomes a station on the path to the essential.

The doll in Mithea's works symbolizes the feminine soul in its search for its origin, adopting and undoing masks that represent different personalities, until reaching the death of the ego and the encounter with the Absolute.
